When you put out a casting call for ‘bears’, you have to be a little bit careful, particularly after last weeks news footage of a big grizzly going walkabout in Southern California.

Fortunately, the producers of a new indie movie shooting in New York are asking for bears of the gay variety.  In fact, the people that brought you Another Gay Movie need gay extras of all sizes for their latest rom-com, Bear City. It sounds like they’re planning a hairier version of Sex and the City, although I can’t quite picture four gay bears sitting around talking men and fashion over brunch.

So if you think you’ve got what it takes, have always wanted to be in a gay movie, are available on 24, 28 and 29 August and live in New York, what are you waiting for? Food is provided, so you can always chub-up on the day if you don’t quite pass as a bear yet.

Not crazy about the title, Bear City; I think they could have come up with something better. I like the tagline, though: “Romance can be hairy!”
