Talking of Scott Evans, we now have a completely scientific way of measuring the level of homophobia when it comes to Hollywood casting agents.
By plotting the career paths of out gay actor, Scott, and his more famous brother – Hollywood star, Chris Evans – we can calculate the depth of the pink glass ceiling that exists in the movie industry.
It seems fair to use both brothers as test subjects and directly compare them: they both had the same upbringing and the same opportunities; they’re equally handsome and neither is a better or worse actor than his sibling.
Okay, so older brother Chris had a few years head start, but while his Hollywood career is nudging ‘A’ list status (a sure sign being that he can shrug off stinkers like Rise of the Silver Surfer and Push), his little bro’ is stuck in the daytime TV schedules with only a tiny role in a very gay-friendly movie to put on his résumé.
It’ll be interesting to see how these two careers progress: will lovely Scott crack Hollywood and will Chris start picking roles in better movies?
