There seems to be a new sub-genre of gay film: the vigilante/revenge, exploitation movie where the gay-bashed start bashing back.
Last week it was Russian drag queens taking the law into their own hands and hunting down the gay-hating thugs who killed one of their friends. And if you thought Jolly Fellows didn’t sound in any way subtle, check out Ticked-off Trannies with Knives!
I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this movie and its mix of blood, gore, tits, comedy, martial arts and stilettos when I first read about it, but having just watched the trailer I can’t wait!
Yes I know the movie’s flaws are there to see (mixed performances and horror/comedy can be a tough one to crack), but when the ladies pull themselves together after their horrific ordeal, learn some fighting moves and get ready to kick ass, you can already feel the adrenaline surge.
The filmmakers clearly know their genre and treat it with respect – a love letter to all those 70′s exploitation movies. And the ladies look gorgeous!
I’d love to see what Quentin Tarantino or Robert Rodriguez could do with this story and a big-budget – how cool would that be? Of course there’d have to keep the star of this movie, Krystal Summers, as Bubbles Cliquot.
Ticked-off Trannies with Knives premieres on 3 Feb. If you know where, send in.

I’m thrilled that this movie has caught your attention…I am the producer. We are offering a special private screening to the cast & crew (as well as some family & friends) Feb. 3 at the Magnolia Theater in Dallas, TX.
When will there be a South Florida screening? The Gateway theatre in Ft. Lauderdale, FL would be the perfect venue for a screening! They do many indie and gay films that don’t run in traditional venues. Would love to see this screen here — I am from TX originally and know all of the girls in the film. Wish I could have caught the screening at the Magnolia! Would love to be part of a street team for viewing here in S. Florida…
