Gay actors and real-life boyfriends Matthew Montgomery (Redwoods,
Pornography: A Thriller) and Steve Callahan (East Side Story, Nine Lives) will be putting to the test the common maxim that if you’ve got chemistry off screen, you won’t have it onscreen.
The sexy couple are both signed to play roles in Guest House Film’s latest gay movie, Role/Play. It’s a story about the fickle nature of celebrity with Callahan playing a just-outed gay star of a TV soap. Montgomery is a just-divorced, gay marriage activist he meets at an intimate, gay, Palm Springs resort.
Brian Nolan (The Lair) and David Pevsner (Adam & Steve, The Fluffer) have also just been added to the cast of this gay movie, which starts shooting May 3.
Writer/director Rob Williams and producer Rodney Johnson (the guys who brought you Make The Yuletide Gay) aren’t afraid to try new ways of doing things: for this gay movie they’ve been raising financing with the help of fans and fundraising websites.
In June, just after Role/Play wraps shooting, the filmmakers will present a rough cut to audiences at Texas’ Q Cinema Film Festival to get feedback and will use this to shape the final edit.
I hope Matthew and Steve are hard at work practicing those difficult love scenes.
