Of course, Boy George wouldn’t be Boy George if he didn’t have a very public opinion about something and of last weekend’s BBC TV movie about his early years (which he was consulted on) he had this to say:

Verdict, beautifully shot and styled but badly written, it lacks heart and soul!”

Today George backtracked on his comments about Worried About The Boy, telling his Twitter followers that “Douglas Booth [who played George] did me proud, I love the acting, the look, genius, a few script issues for me but love Boy Doug!”

Interestingly one thing that George didn’t pick up on was the clear fact that part-time Burberry model Booth was far too handsome to play the Culture Club singer. Personally I think he’d make a better Adam Ant with his striking looks and impossible cheekbones.

And it’s just been reported that those cheekbones will be touching up against Matt Smith’s more alien features in the just-started-shooting gay movie Christopher And His Kind, another BBC film, this time based on the Berlin life of gay writer Christopher Isherwood.

Production on the movie began in Belfast over the weekend and George Booth will be playing a young street cleaner who enters into a gay love affair with the Dr. Who actor. So bound to be some smooching (this is the BBC) although you’ll have to watch with one hand in front of your face so you can block out Matt Smith – I’m sorry, but the guy just suits playing a sexless alien.
