Gay movies are dotting the radar of other media outlets this week:

…Michael Giltz is getting paid to hang out with sailors and seek out gay movies in Cannes (grrrr) for Queersighted.co.uk. He name-checks some films I missed, including the intriguing sounding Uncle Boonmee, Who Can Recall His Past Lives, which is directed by gay Buddhist Apichatpong Weerasethakul. He’s already won big at Cannes for past movie Blissfully Yours

…sticking with Cannes, UK newstube The Guardian has an audio report from the Croisette and if you skip to 07:25 you can hear an interview with the director of Eyes Wide Open, the controversial gay movie that made a splash at last year’s festival…

…UK viewers should make a date for tomorrow night (BBC2 at 9.00pm) with 17-year-old actor Douglas Booth. The also-model with the gravity-defying cheekbones plays a young, pre-fame Boy George in the TV movie Worried About The Boy. So, yes, expect some gay kissing – 80′s pop star George had a secret affair with his handsome band-mate (played by Matthew Horne).

Also expect Dougie mania anytime soon and comparisons with Robert Pattinson for the young actor…

…Brent Ledger for Canadian news site, www.thestar.com, offers advice on navigating the inside and outside of this month’s Inside Out Film Fest in Toronto – avoid the films with pretty stars and you should be fine. Brent also offers his own personal tips on what to see…

…and finally, new underground arts e-mag The Kaje has on its first ever cover the good-looking stars of gay movie Give Me Your Hand. If you’re interested to know what the real life twins have been up to since their debut acting gig, there’s an interview with the brothers inside.
