Some gay movie related bits and bobs for you today:
…There really is no escape from the Twilight onslaught – I just looked out of my window and giant versions of Taylor Lautner and Robert Pattinson were looking right back at me from the side of a bus.
And gay blog Queerty keeps banging on about how the media and Twilight marketing dept. are conspiring to make the movie seem more homoerotic than it is in order to get gays on seats (as opposed to inventing a gay story angle in order to write about a cultural phenomenon on your blog, ahem). Who cares anyway? It’s the same things as with Glee – why would I watch a kids show?
…At the end of May I reported that the UK’s Chartered Institute for IT had made a short film about the achievements of gay scientist Alan Turing, the man credited with inventing Artificial Intelligence, as part of their Information Pioneers campaign. Well the public has now voted and unanimously crowned him as the Ultimate Information Pioneer, recognising his role in cracking the Nazi’s Enigma code and shortening WW2 by an estimated two years. If you missed the film then follow this link.
…And finally, ‘art’ collector and public masturbator Paul Reubens continues his long road to career resuscitation with news that Judd Apatow is working with Reubens on a new movie based around his famous character, Pee-Wee Herman. Personally I find the idea of an aging Pee-Wee in a slapstick film rather creepy.
