A Republican running for US Congress on a ‘traditional family values’ and anti-gay marriage ticket once starred in a movie about a gay wedding (makes a change from sleeping with rent boys and giving secret gay lovers a political adviser job, I suppose).

Sean Duffy, who’s hoping to win a Wisconsin candidacy, once appeared as a regular character on MTV’s reality show, Real World Boston. He then took part in a movie parody called The Wedding Video, the brainchild of gay, Real World New York alumnus Norman Korpi.

The film is a behind the scenes mockumetary following Norman’s gay marriage to a secret gay porn star called Sky (played by Brien Perry). Several Real World faces get to send up their screen personas in the movie, including Duffy, who supports the constitutional ban on gay marriage that Wisconsin voters passed in 2006.

I think it’s safe to say that Duffy thought his short-lived gay movie career was safely buried (just watch the trailer), but that’s the beauty of the internet.
